The OM-28 Authentic 1931 is a new release from Martin Guitar that is a 14-fret neck Orchestra model with lengthened 25.4" scale and 1 3/4" neck width.
The guitar features Madagascar rosewood back and sides. The OM-28 Authentic 1931 also uses Martin's Vintage Tone System (VTS) to replicate the appearance and tonality of the original 1931 guitar. Vintage Guitar recently published a feature on the Vintage Tone System hailing it as a "connisseur's instrument, something for the guitartist who wants to play a simply stunning acoustic, not just look at a museum piece." You can read more from Vintage Guitar on the Vintage Tone System here.
Other appointments such as hide glue construction, hand shaping and assembly, and tucked under bridge plate and bracing are true the 1931 OM-28. The model is strung with SP Lifespan strings for a long-lasting tone.
